Leaking Underground Storage Tank Trust Fund

The Federal Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) Trust Fund provides aid to clean-up petroleum releases from federally regulated underground storage tanks (USTs). In 2005, the fund was expanded to include aid for certain leak prevention activities. The federal government has assistance agreements with states and tribes to carry out the LUST cleanup program. Check with your state or tribe to see if you qualify for financial assistance.
